For Robbing the Dead

In frontier Utah, a grieving sheriff is confronted with a grisly crime – an immigrant Frenchman has been robbing the dead of their clothing. To make matters worse, his own young daughter is among those buried in the cemetery where the crimes were committed. Sentenced to exile on an island in the Great Salt Lake, the convict becomes a burden for the lawman, who is charged by a wise judge to take provisions to the man. Over the course of several encounters, the sheriff comes to realize that this prisoner may have more understanding than meets the eye.
