Les Misérables

Jean Valjean is a man haunted by his criminal past and an evil police chief named Javert. In a search for personal deliverance, especially after an influential meeting with a priest, Valjean spends his life trying to do good. Valjean becomes a successful businessman, but learns to return to kindness when he helps an ill and destitute woman, Fantine, and her daughter, Cosette.
