It is 1950s England, and a lonely, dysfunctional station master lives in the middle of nowhere. Unexpectedly, a woman exits one of the steam trains and must wait a whole day for the next train to arrive. During the night they spend together, she opens his eyes to a life he never believed he could have, and now he cannot live without it.
