The Tramp is infatuated with a beautiful young blind girl. In order to gain her favor, he convinces her that he is a millionaire, an illusion he must keep alive if he hopes to woo her. In an ironic twist-of-fate, the Tramp convinces a real millionaire not to commit suicide. When drunk, the millionaire is grateful to the Tramp and treats him as an equal, lavishing gifts upon him.
