Troubles escalate in a small North Dakota town when a frozen foods delivery man with ambitions for a cooking career accidentally gets an old lutefisk recipe that two rival Norwegian mafia families have been fighting over for years. Despite the well-meaning but unhelpful assistance of his fiancée, the local police chief, and the FBI, the wannabe cook manages through a comical series of twists and turns to serve the mafia a little taste of his homemade justice. Lessons are learned along the way, and armed with this insight and renewed confidence, he finally heads for a prestigious culinary school and a new future with his fiancee.
